Arts / Music

9th grade

My journey into music composition was sparked by the vibrant musical scene I encountered among students during my study abroad in Los Angeles. With no instrumental experience, I dove into the world of music production using FL Studio and GarageBand. As my passion grew, I advanced to professional software like Studio One and a host of plugins, mastering the full workflow from composition and arrangement to mixing and mastering. I also immersed myself in the academic study of music history and theory, learning to skillfully apply principles of harmony and counterpoint. Today, I compose for a diverse array of instruments—vocals, guitar, bass, drums, piano, string quartets, winds, and synthesizers—across a broad spectrum of genres, from EDM and rock to classical and epic orchestral scores.

Embarking on this path with zero musical background was a bold leap, but it has shaped me into a uniquely versatile composer. The meticulous process of building sound from nothing has given me a profound appreciation for the precision and discipline inherent in art. It has unlocked a new dimension of listening for me; I can now perceive the intricate layers and understand the composer's intent and emotion in a way I never could before. I am convinced that this ability to interpret the purpose behind a creation is a critical skill that directly translates to the worlds of programming and design.
