Entrepreneurial experience and grand prize

Leadership / Awards

10th grade

I spearheaded a team as CEO for an entrepreneurship program, culminating in running a successful pop-up shop at our two-day school festival. Our concept, "A Taste of Japanese Summer," was designed to create an immersive festival experience for people who had missed out on summer traditions due to the pandemic. We also integrated a social mission into our business by hosting a workshop where customers could craft accessories from recycled microplastics and ocean debris. This approach was based on the principle of Creating Shared Value (CSV), where business success and social responsibility are intertwined.

Our team was honored with the Grand Prize in the sales category, recognized for both our commercial success and our social impact. This journey taught me not only the thrill of achieving a common goal but also the real-world complexities of managing people and capital. It was a powerful lesson in the importance of empowering every team member and leveraging their unique strengths—a lesson that also highlighted areas for my own growth as a leader. This experience ignited my passion for understanding what defines effective management and cemented my determination to pursue a formal education in business and management.
